The PreKG and KG class recently visited The Museum of Modern Art. During the trip, children were asked to talk about art and materials needed to make a painting. The tour guide discussed that the exhibit we would view was of the perspective of outer space. Children created rockets out of a variety of shapes and "flew" to the different paintings to talk about them. We viewed and discussed shapes and feelings of three different pieces of art. The workshop ended by creating our own outer space picture based on things we saw in the gallery. This large artwork can be found hanging in our school hallways. Children enjoyed a packed lunch in the cafe where we talked about our favorite parts of the day.
