Green School Fall 2015 was a tremendous success. We started our journey on September 30 from the school and after stopping for lunch, made it to our field classes with the Jura Mountain Rescue Group. Students met with lifeguards to learn about CSR mountain rescue and received a multimedia lecture.
There was a team discussion of rescue operations and the specifics of accidents in the mountain. Students also were shown rescue & climbing equipment and discussed rules for safety techniques. We engaged in team tasks and climbed paths of varying difficulty using mountain climbing ropes. After such a long day, it was time to check into our hotel.
On day 2, after breakfast, we took a trip to the castle in Mirów & Bobolice - one of the most romantic castles in Poland. There were more team building activities which focused groups on achieving a common goal and designed to build camaraderie, morale, leadership skills, and communication styles that highlight complementary strengths. After a lunch snack pack, we had more outdoor activities with Jura Mountain Rescue: Crossing rope bridges, climbing on networks with a top rope climbing, racing in the terminals. Then it was back to hotel for deserved free time and dinner.
On day 3, we had a guided tour of the Castle in Ogrodzieniec – the shooting spot of "Revenge". Also took a trip to the Rzędkowickie rocks of Jura Island Mountains. There were more field classes with Jura Mountain Rescue Group. On this occasion, we learned ABC encryption letters and characters patrol, ABC encryption with the use of GPS devices, Geocaching -"playing with the GPS with the search for encrypted letters and treasures". Back at the hotel, we enjoyed a bonfire with sausages and an IAS dance party!
