A message from Mr Uden
Dear IAS Community,
As we move into October, our theme for the month, Respect, will really come to life. Schools are all about people; they are places where individuals from different cultures, religions, world views, and backgrounds come together. IAS is a school with an incredibly diverse population, and in this context, our core value of respect is so important. We know that if we keep this value at the heart of everything we do, we are able to achieve even more than we would without it, maximizing positive outcomes for all of us.
Over the coming month, we will be looking at various ways to focus on this theme and help us fully engage with this value. In the week ahead, we are going to announce more initiatives for students and have some surprises in store for our community. We are moving into an exciting time!
Best regards,
Christopher Uden

Book a trial sessionGrades 11 and 12: CAS trip to the Baltic
Students in Grades 11 and 12 are invited on our first CAS trip, from 21 to 23 October 2026. The route takes in Gdynia, Hel and Gdańsk, with time for sightseeing and getting to know classmates.
The programme includes experiences in Creativity, Activity and Service. The supplied itinerary lists:
- Day 1: Gdynia waterfront, Kamienna Góra funicular, a tour of Dar Pomorza and travel to Władysławowo.
- Day 2: the seal centre in Hel, an amber workshop, a “Treasure Hunters” field game and night amber hunting with UV torches.
- Day 3: a guided Royal Route tour in Gdańsk, video and photography tasks, then the return journey.
The organiser’s poster specifies an air-conditioned coach with seat belts and accommodation in rooms for two to five people. Please contact the school office for participation details.
After-school clubs
Please check the revised schedule for club times and year groups. All eleven sessions are also listed as text in the weekly calendar.
The Monday schedule notes D12 pick-up from D18. Please contact the office if you need to confirm collection arrangements.
Grade 3 explores the human skeleton
In Science this week, Grade 3 built skeleton models using straws, pasta, paper and play dough.
The children carefully placed the skull, spine, rib cage, hip bones, arm bones and leg bones. Making the models helped them learn where the main bones belong and how they work together to support our bodies.
Personal Project: students helping students
On 1 October, Grade 11 visited Grade 10 to share their experience of the MYP Personal Project. Each student explained their idea, the steps they followed, the challenges they faced and one piece of advice for those starting their own projects.
Grade 10 heard what the process looks like from beginning to end, including both the rewarding moments and the difficulties.
STEAM: balloon rockets and Newton’s third law
On Thursday 1 October, the Grades 3 to 5 STEAM club built simple rocket models and tested ways to improve them.
To repeat the experiment at home, tape an inflated balloon to a straw threaded onto a taut string. Release the balloon: air escapes backwards and the balloon moves forwards. The experiment shows how expelling gas in one direction propels a rocket in the opposite direction, an example of Newton’s third law.
The group also made balloons on sticks, just for fun.
Lunch and the current timetable
As announced last week, KG through Grade 8 eat lunch at IAS. Families can choose school catering or send food from home. Grades 6 to 8 may visit shops after lunch with a designated teacher, under the mobility policy.
Please use the current timetable on the Community page for families. Contact the office if you need help signing in.
Catering, transport and IAS social media
Complete your catering details
If you choose school catering, please register or sign in to the IAS iKuchnia panel and complete your details and your child’s details. For siblings, use “Add child” in the same account. Then choose the dates and meals, press “Order” to confirm, and arrange payment under “Balance” → “Pay”. Creating an account alone does not order lunch. Please arrange any allergies or special diets directly with the kitchen through iKuchnia.
Complete details and order mealsRegister your interest in school transport
If your family needs school transport, please complete the transport interest form with your contact details, your child’s name and grade, pick-up area and the journeys you need. IAS and Little Monsters use these details to plan routes. The form is an expression of interest; availability, fees and the service agreement are confirmed with the provider.

Recommend IAS to another family
If you know a family looking for a school, please put them in touch with our admissions team. The IAS referral programme offers a 2,000 PLN tuition credit for an eligible new-family referral.
The new family must give the referring parent’s name at first contact, before submitting application documents. This is separate from the sibling discount. Please check the referral terms or contact [email protected].
