Four things to do this week
A message from Mr Uden
Dear IAS Community,
Next week we will come to the end of September, which is always a good moment to reflect on how things have started. The theme for this month has been about Welcoming, and we really have put a big emphasis on making sure everyone gets settled into the new school year.
I am very excited to have already heard from students, staff and parents fantastic ideas for things they would like to achieve during this year. Accordingly, I feel that the year has gotten off to a very effective start as we develop together as a community.
Next month we will be focusing on Respect as the next monthly theme in our Year of Values. We are very excited this year to have this key focus on our values as we believe that these are the things that make our community most unique.
Best regards,
Christopher Uden
Principal

Mobility policy and lunches from Monday
The updated Student Mobility Policy takes effect on Monday 28 September. As confirmed in today’s notice, students from KG through Grade 8 must eat lunch at IAS. Families may choose school catering or provide food from home.
With colder weather approaching, children will have a warm, comfortable place to eat. For Grades 6 to 8, shop visits take place after lunch with a designated teacher, under the mobility policy.
If you choose catering, remember to select and confirm your child’s meals in iKuchnia. Registering an account does not place an order.

The updated timetable will be implemented from Monday 28 September. Please check for changes on the Community page for families. Parents and students can use the access details already shared by the school. Please contact the office if you need help signing in.
Revised after-school clubs schedule
Please use the revised schedule below for club times and year groups. The same sessions are listed in the weekly calendar as readable text.
On Monday, the schedule notes D12 pick-up from D18. Please check the collection arrangements with the school if you are unsure.

Students introduce IASMUN 2026
Last week, Sofia and Aysha, Grade 12 students and organizers of IASMUN 2026, presented the school’s Model United Nations conference to Grades 9 and 12.
They explained what MUN is, how it works, what committees do and how students can benefit from taking part. They also shared the conference date and location and encouraged students to apply.
Students showed strong interest and asked many questions, which Sofia and Aysha answered. We look forward to seeing our students participate in IASMUN 2026!

Grades 3 to 5: the great bread experiment
Where will mould grow fastest? The STEAM club’s young scientists prepared four slices of bread: one touched after using hand sanitizer, one after washing hands with soap, one touched with dirty hands, and one given a quick lick.
They made predictions, sealed their samples and will check them again next week to see what grows. The activity prompted a discussion about handwashing; the observations are still to come.

Catering, transport and IAS social media
Complete your catering details
If you choose school catering, please register or sign in to the IAS iKuchnia panel and complete your details and your child’s details. For siblings, use “Add child” in the same account. Then choose the dates and meals, press “Order” to confirm, and arrange payment under “Balance” → “Pay”. Creating an account alone does not order lunch. Please arrange any allergies or special diets directly with the kitchen through iKuchnia.
Complete details and order mealsRegister your interest in school transport
If your family needs school transport, please complete the transport interest form with your contact details, your child’s name and grade, pick-up area and the journeys you need. IAS and Little Monsters use these details to plan routes. The form is an expression of interest; availability, fees and the service agreement are confirmed with the provider.
