School meals

From September 2026 the meals at IAS are cooked by Kuchnia z Klasą, whose kitchens work only with schools and kindergartens in Warsaw. Everything is made from scratch on the day, and ordering is done by families through their own account.

Tasting day

The children taste the food before anyone orders it.

At the start of every school year the kitchen brings the menu into school and the children try it. Not a photograph of a dish on a website, the dish itself, on a plate, at lunchtime.

This year the tasting days ran on 7 and 8 September, in both buildings, Dembego 12 and Dembego 18. Quesadillas, Greek salad, breaded chicken, rice, cucumber salad, fresh bread, sushi and cold pressed juices went out on the tables, and the response from the children was about as clear as a response gets. They liked it.

If your child came home talking about something they tried, it is on the menu in the ordering panel below.

Before you start

Wait for the email.

You do not need to register anywhere yet. A few days before school begins in September, every family receives a separate email with a login for the ordering system and step by step instructions. Please wait for that email before setting anything up.

The kitchen

How the food is made.

Kuchnia z Klasą has been cooking for Warsaw pupils for more than twelve years, in preschools, primary schools and high schools.

01

Cooked from scratch

No ready made components. Soups and stocks are made on fresh vegetables with no meat added, and the chefs mince their own meat instead of buying it ready ground. Pierogi, naleśniki and kopytka are made by hand in the kitchen.

02

Seasonal ingredients

Menus follow the season. Suppliers are checked and certified, and the kitchen works to HACCP standards.

03

No pork

Pork is not used at all. Veal and turkey are served in its place. The only stock made on meat is rosół, which uses turkey.

04

Food safety

A sample of each day’s food is kept refrigerated for 72 hours for the sanitary inspectorate, and certificates are held for every supplier the kitchen buys from.

The menu

Something for every child, every day.

2026/2027

The new dietary standards.

The September menu, and every menu after it, follows the new Ministry of Health guidelines. In practice that means:

A vegan meal
At least once a week.
Soups
Cooked on vegetable stock only, with no meat. Rosół is available in both a traditional and a vegetarian version.
Nothing artificial
No artificial colours and no concentrates.
Vegetables
A vegetable side with every main dish.
Sweet things
Served as fruit, fruit salad or vegetables to crunch on, sweetened only with agave or date syrup.
Fried food
No more than once a week, and only in rapeseed oil.
