BYOD Policy High School
Parents and students are kindly reminded to read the school’s Mobile Technology Policy here: https://community.ias.edu.pl/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Community-Conduct-Mobile-Technology-Policy.…
The password for accessing the school’s community site is: iaswarsaw
Students from 9-12 grade and their parents should please take note that the policy states the following:
Students in grades 9-12 are required to bring their own device to participate in lessons which require technology. Teachers will communicate to the students when the device is required in advance. The type of device this policy refers to is a tablet or laptop which has keyboards. Mobile phones are not an appropriate substitute. At all times, devices should be used carefully and respectfully, following the school’s Internet Usage Policy.
We have given a grace period for parents and students to organise the purchase of these items. However, at this point we must underline that without them students will not be able to make full use of the learning in their lessons. Accordingly, we kindly ask you to make the necessary arrangements to ensure that students have access to appropriate devices.
Managebac
Students and teacher are kindly reminded that our account with Managebac is being migrated. It is essential that all files that you need to back-up are downloaded and saved elsewhere. This must be undertaken before our account goes offline on the 15th October. Please do not risk the loss of work.
October Training Day (School Closed)
On the 20th of October there is a staff training day, and the school will be closed. Although this has been on the calendar since the beginning of the year, we wanted to remind all community members.

Theory of Knowledge (TOK) Essay – A Core Challenge in IB DP Grade 12
The TOK essay is one of the key components of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme and an opportunity for students to engage with the nature of knowledge. Each year, the International Baccalaureate Organization publishes six Prescribed Titles, prompts in form of Knowledge Questions that invite students to reflect on how knowledge is produced, justified, and valued.
Every Grade 12 student selects one title and develops a formal, academic, 1,600-word essay. The task is analytical rather than personal: students must construct a clear argument, drawing on examples from two Areas of Knowledge (AoK) to explore the question in context. The Areas of Knowledge we examine in TOK are:
- History
- The Human Sciences
- The Natural Sciences
- The Arts
- Mathematics
The TOK essay encourages students to think beyond subject boundaries, to connect what they are learning across the curriculum, and to reflect critically on how we know what we claim to know. It is both demanding and rewarding, equipping students with intellectual skills that extend far beyond the classroom.
This year, our Grade 12 students have already started their work, tackling these thought-provoking titles with creativity, curiosity, and academic diligence. We look forward to seeing how they contribute to the global conversation about knowledge.
May 2026 TOK prescribed titles:
6th Grade Celebrate Boys and Girls Day
In 6th grade, the girls prepared a lovely surprise for their classmates for Boys’ Day on September 30th. Funny photos of the boys, short descriptions, and sweets brought lots of joy. Then, on October 10th the boys responded with their own poster about the girls in their class (International Girl’s Day is celebrated on October 11th)
D12 Sports Day
Today we had an amazing and energetic half day in D12 — Sport Day! The event began with a lively warm-up that got everyone moving and ready for the challenges ahead.
Students competed in exciting relay races representing their houses: Air, Fire, Earth, and Water. The atmosphere was full of energy and laughter. We were truly impressed by the students’ effort, teamwork, sportsmanship, and fair play throughout the day.
Everyone showed fantastic spirit and supported one another, making the event a real celebration of movement and community.
After all the races and cheers, here are the results:
1st place – Fire – 32 points
2nd place – Air – 24 points
2nd place – Water – 24 points
3rd place – Earth – 18 points
A huge congratulations to Fire House for their outstanding performance and to all our students for making Sports Day such a memorable and joyful experience!
We are extremely proud of every participant for their enthusiasm and effort.
Well done, D12!
