School events bring students, staff and families together throughout the year. Teachers and alumni have helped establish many IAS traditions since the school opened in 1989.
Through the year
The holidays bring student DJ parties, run by students, with the music chosen by the people dancing to it. The Christmas play is a fixture of the winter term and one of the few evenings the whole school turns up for. The annual talent show gives students a chance to perform for the school. And senior prom is the evening the leaving year remembers, at the end of a long two years.
The committee behind it
The School Pride Committee is chaired by the student council president. Alongside the events, it is the formal route between students and the administration, giving students a way to raise ideas and concerns.
The committee keeps finding new ways to spark school spirit, and it is a bridge between students and administration.
The IAS Tiger
The school mascot, and the symbol the youngest children and the athletics teams both claim as theirs. It turns up at games, at assemblies, and in most photographs taken on a loud day.
