Dear ,
It has been a busy and exciting week here at school! Our Community Week was full of energy and collaboration, with students from both buildings taking part in a variety of activities. It is wonderful to see our school spirit and sense of togetherness growing stronger each year.
Following on from the success of our Fun Run, we would like to encourage students, parents, and teachers to take part in the Warsaw Independence Day Run, taking place on 11 November. You can find full details of the event here: https://biegniepodleglosci.waw.pl/
There are several options to choose from:
- 5 km Nordic Walk
- Mila Niepodległości (1 mile) for ages 10–15
- 10 km run for ages 15 and up
When registering, please list International American School as your club — this will help us see how many members of our community are taking part. Let us continue to celebrate health, community, and independence together!

Community Week
KG & 1st Grade Art Event
On Monday, October 13th, Kindergarten and Grade 1 opened our Fall Community Week with an art event. Together with their parents, Kindergarteners and First graders worked on an autumnal art project planned by our Art teacher, Ms. Gosia.
They used paints and their fingers to create a fall fingerprint tree. It was a lovely afternoon spent getting to know each other even better!
Teachers Day
On Tuesday the 14th of October, we celebrated teachers’ day to thank our wonderful teachers for everything they have done for us.
To mark the occasion, the Student Body Presidents, Aysha and Ola, prepared teachers awards and organized a wall of appreciation filled with lovely messages from the students. This day was a great success, and we hope that everyone enjoyed it!
Also on this day, students in MYP G7 Language & Literature class, reflected on the qualities they think teachers should possess.
Personally, I think a teacher should be reflective, responsible, kind, understanding, and communicative. Teachers should have these qualities because you need to be reflective to understand a potential mistake in your teaching, you should be responsible so your resources needed to teach don’t become cluttered or else your mind will become cluttered which disables your ability to teach correctly, you should be kind so your students feel safe and welcome around you, you should be understanding so students can come to you for help, and you should be communicative to converse with other teachers and gain information easily. Teachers should follow these qualities, because then they’d be perfect in nearly everyone’s eyes! In summary, I believe these qualities should be followed by teachers because then school would be easier for both students and teachers to bear. — Juliana El Houssari
The 5 qualities that teachers should have are language, creativity, reflecting students fairly, knowledge, and responsibility. Teachers should have a good language to teach us fluently. They need to be creative to find different fun ways to teach us in the class. They need to reflect all the students fairly to create justice and equality. Teachers should be knowledgeable to answer students’ questions correctly to help them. Teachers need to be responsible to work a lot to teach us better which I think the most important quality is this. — Eymen Demir
Bake sale
During the community week on Tuesday, we had an opportunity to organise a bake sale and collect some money for a charity called Gwiazdor.
The bake sale was a very successful event both because of both the wonderful students that baked amazing stuff as well as the students that contributed by buying the baked goods. Overall, we managed to collect more than 600zł for the charity which is a great amount!
Fun Run/Walk
Our students and parents came together for a fantastic 4km fun run on Wednesday, October 15th! It was wonderful to see everyone participating, from those running for fun to those who were determinedly competitive. A special mention goes to our youngest participants Rozalia, Zeynep and Ali, who was only 4 years old – what an inspiring effort!
All students had a great time, enjoying the challenge and the chance to be active with friends and family. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the students, teachers, and parents who made this event such a success. Your energy, enthusiasm, and support truly made it a memorable day!
G3 & G4 Presentations
The 3rd and 4th grade community week was all about their culture and families. The third graders researched a holiday which they celebrate with their family. They dressed up, brought delicious family recipes and made colourful posters with information about the holiday. The 4th graders researched their families.
They created family trees, brought in family artifacts and interviewed their family members about their life in 4th grade. The third and fourth graders were able to then go around and learn about each other’s families and cultures. It was a great day!
G2 Crafting
On Friday afternoon, G2 students and parents joined together to create a beautiful mosaic fall craft.
The students had prepared the materials in at class ahead of time, show casing their artistic talent and dedication. We were excited to embrace the autumn weather and beauty as a community!
