News/Items:
Masks in school
As reported on last week’s bulletin, masks are no longer a requirement in classrooms. However students and staff in both buildings are still required to wear masks in common areas so please remember to bring masks with you to school.
Staff training
The previously postponed staff professional development session is now scheduled for Friday, April 22. On this day, all lessons and Swietlica will be cancelled after lunch to allow all staff to participate in a series of trainings throughout the afternoon. All students must be collected from school by 12:30.
Chess competition
IAS will be hosting a chess tournament open for students from grades 5 – 12. We encourage you to take part regardless of the level you’re at!
The funds collected from the entrance fees will be donated for the purchase of necessities for the Ukrainian War refugees. Any questions can be forwarded to ARSHIMOV MEYLIS
The deadline for sign up is Tuesday April 5.
Reports
Mid-semester 2 reports will be published on Tuesday afternoon for all students. Parents should receive a notification from Managebac when the reports are published. A separate email will be sent out on Tuesday with details of how to arrange online parent teacher meetings via Zoom.
Parent-teacher meetings are scheduled to take place from April 6 – 13 via Zoom only.
IASxTalks
We are delighted to announce a new club is being formed, led by Milena Dederko (co-president) and Aleksandra Iwanczak of 11th grade and supervised by Ethan Ruby
Their goal is to invite TEDx to have a talk at IAS and one of the application requirements is for us to have our own speech and current events club at school. They have already held their introductory meeting but are still welcoming any additional interested members. The focus for meetings will be speechwriting and public speaking practice in a low stress environment.
Anyone 8th grade and above is invited to come along to Room 13 on Thursdays at 15:20 if they would like to learn more

Please note that clubs are a required part of the IAS program for Grades 5 – 10. Any student with a legitimate reason to be exempted, should be excused by their parent by email. One email at the start of the semester is sufficient.
