.b lesson 6 summary: Stepping back

In lesson 6 of the .b Mindfulness club, students explored the theme of “stepping back”. The main teaching was that thoughts are like traffic and we can practice at observing this traffic rather than jumping on board every passing car. We discussed neuroplasticity with a focus on how repeated thought patterns become “wider roads” in the brain network. Therefore, it’s important to note what types of common thoughts we entertain! For example, is worry like the autostrada, or more like a country road? For sure it collects a toll, so it’s important to be mindful of it! Students journaled their most common thought patterns and practiced a variety of seated meditations designed to cultivate the observer that sees thoughts but does not identify with them.

MUN Club goes to Denmark! (virtually)

After 6 months of practice sessions led by Mr. Ruby and the student leadership team, 7 members will attend sessions on unfamiliar ground. We wish them the best of luck as they put all their new skills to the test

 Re-enrollment for 2021/22

Re-enrollment for 2021/22 is now open for all families that are currently enrolled to IAS. As a current IAS parent, you have priority to reserve your child’s place in the classroom. However, please be aware that the high demand for IAS has required us to open waiting lists for many classes. If declarations of reenrollment are not received before our set deadline, we will have no choice but to make places available to families on our waiting lists. The important dates are:

  1. Declare your intent to re-enroll for 2021/22 – 26th February 2021
  1. Payment of the re-enrollment fee for 2021/22 – 15th March 2021

Full details may be found via the link at the end of this email.
