D18 Yearbook photos

The yearbook photographer will be visiting the D18 next Tuesday (18.04) and the following Wednesday (26.04) from 10:00am to 15:00 to take individual and class photos. The schedule is as follows:

Tuesday, 18 April: yearbook photos for grades 5-8

Wednesday, 26 April: yearbook photos for grades 9-12

The purpose of these photos is to document and commemorate the members of our school for the 2022-2023 academic year. While there is no obligation to purchase a yearbook, we kindly ask that all students come to school prepared to have their photo taken on their assigned day.

If you have any questions related to the yearbook or the school photos, please contact us at secretary@ias.edu.pl

The Daffodils Initiative

The daffodil action has been organized for many years by the Polin museum. It uses the symbol of a daffodil to commemorate the anniversary of the uprising in the Warsaw ghetto which started on the 19th of April 1943.

At our school we will learn about that heroic and tragic chapter in history seen through the eyes of children and we will make origami daffodils to show that we remember.

Usbourne Book fair at D12 & D18

Time to celebrate reading with an Usborne book fair!

How can you buy books?

Children will come to the book fair with their classes, and will be able to browse the offer and order books during the visit provided they have money on them.

Please note that 59zł will practically let the child choose any ONE book. Most of our books range between 35zł and 81zł each.

Card payment will be possible.

Everyone’s welcome to browse the online catalog at https://usborne.com/gb/partner/Kats_books/ in search of titles you’d most like to purchase. Please make sure it’s possible to add the title to the cart as it will mean they are available.

Orders can also be placed with Ms. Melissa Roginski/Ms. Veronica Krawiec till Thursday, 27th of April.

Children will not take any books home on the day of the book fair. We’ll aim to deliver all the books to the school by Friday, 12th May.

The Usbourne rep will be happy to advise everyone on books suitable for various interests and needs. Please email or call me for recommendations.

 TEDxYouth @ IAS

The TEDxYouth @ IAS event was a great success with our students exhibiting well-prepared and professional presentations. This was the culmination of more than one year of work and will inspire our next cohort TEDxYouth leaders!

While the full recording will be published at a later date, check out some of the photos below for now.
