 News

A short note about this week and lessons after Easter

Wednesday afternoon lessons and swietlica are cancelled for all students as staff will participate in a professional development session during that time. All students must be collected from school by 12:30.

The school will be closed from March 28 – April 2. All lessons will resume on April 3. Mid-semester 2 reports will be published on April 4 around 15:00. The school will close at 12:30 on April 5 to facilitate the online Parent-Teacher (PT) meetings.

Grade 12 Science fair

As a part of the requirements of the Group 4 Sciences, Grade 12 students conducted a mini science fair to demonstrate a wide variety of science phenomena to students across the school. Our IBDP Science teachers supervised the event.

Clubs

This week we are showcasing some of the clubs that take place on other days. These are mainly at high school students, especially those that might have lessons until 16:00 and can have difficulty accessing other available clubs.

TEDxYouth

TEDxYouth is a dynamic platform where young minds converge to share thought-provoking talks, engage in stimulating conversations, and explore diverse perspectives. TEDxYouth was launched successfully last year by Ms. Finch and will return for a second edition to be held in June of this year. We have no shortage of volunteers for organizer roles, but we would love to have more volunteers to speak!  This is a fantastic development opportunity for any student, any students who wish to get involved should contact Mr. Simpson or Ms. Finch.

Football

Mr. Dolenz has taken over the coaching duties for the High School football team and he puts them through their paces for 90 minutes every Tuesday. New participants are welcome as long they bring a strong work ethic. Our team is a young one and it is still developing. However, with each game and training session, they are improving.

IAS Times magazine

While they do not meet regularly, the staff writers for the school magazine, The IAS Times are another major extracurricular activity at IAS. Supervised by Mr. Zielinski, they write about a wide range of topics and fostering creativity and free expression of opinions. The team has recently finished an issue of the times and hope to publish it very soon!
