Regretfully I must inform you that our school counsellor, Mr. Lukasz Matera will be leaving IAS at the end of March. He will take up a post in another school that is considerably closer to his home. He has had a big impact on all levels of IAS since joining and will be missed by all. We thank Lukasz for his support and work at IAS and wish him well with his new position.
The administration is continuing to search for a suitable replacement and has already interviewed several candidates. When there more concrete information, we will share it here.
Staff training. March 27th
I am writing to inform you that the Spring staff training has been rescheduled for the afternoon of Monday March 27, 2023. On this day, all afternoon lessons and swietlica after school care will be cancelled so that all our teaching staff can attend mandatory professional development training. All students should be collected from school by 12:40.
These professional development sessions take place twice a year with the last training taking place in November.
The dates for these sessions have been carefully selected to fit into the academic calendar. With that in mind, I am writing this letter to clarify school hours at both school locations so you can make the necessary arrangements.
Dembego 12:
- Classes end 4th period
- School lunch provided and finishing at 12:30
- Buses home at 12:30
- Swietlica is cancelled.
- School is closed to students at 13:00
Dembego 18:
- Classes end 4th period
- School lunch provided and finishing at 12:30

IAS High School Football
Our football team has been formed just this year with Mr. Alejandro as coach and our students have been training hard every week.
Our High School football team played the Akademeia High School team in a friendly match on Wednesday. While Akademeia proved to be too strong this time around, our players gained very valuable match experience and can see how much they have progressed since their previous match. Final score: Akademiea 9 - 1 IAS Warsaw.
Grade 4 go shopping, for Math!
Mr. Halil recently decided to move one of his math lessons to a supermarket! The 4th graders practiced their decimals and had lots of fun grocery shopping at the nearby store. It is important to try and link these theoretical skills to real life and we thank Mr. Halil for making it happen!
