 News

A message our Head of Upper Elementary and Green School coordinator:

Dear IAS Community,

I am pleased to announce the success of the green school trip for grades 5-8. Everyone’s good behavior was rewarded each day with beautiful weather which set the scene for us to make incredible, lifelong memories. All the teachers, including Ms. Kasia, Mr. Rafal, Mr. Przemek, and myself, are glowing with pride for what each and every student accomplished over the week. We are particularly proud of the students for whom it was the first time away from their families.

Even though we were outside of the school building, there was still plenty of learning taking place. There were lessons in patience, perseverance, empathy, friendship, cooperation, ecology, flexibility, confidence, self-awareness, problem solving, and leadership. Activities included hiking two mountains, two hours of paddling on a boat down a river, exploring two castles, visiting a picturesque waterfall, sightseeing, conquering a rope course, connecting with animals at the zoo, grilling various items during our two bonfires, and of course countless trips to shops to get snacks! Despite some students quickly realizing that the trip would be more physically strenuous than what they’re used to, everyone was able to endure and push through with the support and encouragement of teachers and their peers. Ultimately, each day was filled with so much laughter and hundreds of smiles.

In summary, I want to extend my gratitude to those who attended and assisted in organizing this trip. I think that we truly exemplified our school values and showed everyone we encountered our strong community spirit rooted in respect, kindness, and multicultural understanding.

Sincerely,

Ms. Melissa

A message from our High School Green School coordinator:

Dear IAS Community,

I am delighted to share with you the details of our recent school trip to Gdańsk, Sweden, and Denmark. Our journey began from school on Sunday at 8:00 am, where all the students gathered before boarding the bus to Gdańsk. We had a fantastic, guided walk where we explored the unique atmosphere and character of the old buildings of the city.

Later, we boarded the Stena Line ferry, from Gdansk to Karlskrona, where we had a city tour and visited the Maritime Museum. We then travelled to Lund, where we visited Sweden’s only Romanesque cathedral and continued our journey to Malmö for a city tour. We also had the chance to experience the magnificent Oresund Bridge, which connects Sweden and Denmark underground via the sea.

One of the highlights of our trip was a visit to LegoLand, where students had the opportunity to learn through play and enjoy all the educational benefits that the park has to offer. Our trip was not just fun and entertainment, but also an excellent learning opportunity for all students.

We also had the pleasure of sightseeing in Copenhagen, where we walked around the Old Town and saw The Little Mermaid, Nyhavn, Town Hall Square, the fountain of the goddess Gefion, the Cathedral, Christiansborg, and a boat trip on Copenhagen’s canals.

Finally, we arrived back in Warsaw at around 2000hrs, tired but full of exciting memories and unforgettable experiences.

I would like to thank all the chaperones for their tireless efforts throughout the trip and the students for their excellent behavior and cooperation. We also thank you, the parents, for your trust and confidence in our team, which made this unforgettable experience possible for the students. We are confident that our students will always remember this trip and cherish it forever.

 Sincerely,

Mehdi Rizvi
