D18 Sports Day
Sports Day was a thrilling event! Our students had an amazing time, filled with fun and friendly competition against the other houses. It began with a simple warmup, then sports stations to challenge both the mind and body. After this was a fast-paced relay race and the main event: Ultimate Frisbee and Football Tournaments. The houses competed for points with the Teal House coming out in the lead with 3965 points. It was a day full of teamwork, and we are sure everyone will cherish these memories.
High School Homeroom integration trips September 18 – 25 (D18)
- Grade 9A: Laser Tag
Gr 9A went on a field trip on Friday 22 September to play some laser tag. The day started by trying to find the entrance of the place, which was hidden away in an abandoned factory. The class split up into two teams and played multiple rounds of laser tag, trying to eliminate the other players. After laser tag, the group stopped at Pizza Hut for some grub and then returned to school.
- Grade 9B: Picnic
Grade 9B went on a class picnic where the students had the opportunity to play games together: board games, volleyball, and football. The experience was a perfect outing for everyone to socialize and share experiences. What a wonderful day for everyone involved!
- 10th Grade: Trampoline Park
Class 10 took its integration trip to Stacja Gravitacja in Warsaw. Students enjoyed a few hours of trampoline parks, obstacle courses, trampoline versions of sports, and even challenged the teachers to a match of Battle Beams.
- 11th Grade: Pinball Station
On September 20th, the 11th graders visited Pinball Station, a place where you can play with a range of pinball machines (some dating back almost a century!) and classic arcade games like Mortal Kombat, Pac Man, and Donkey Kong. The students had a chill day gaming, competing in races, and just hanging out with snacks. It was a relaxing break from the start of their IB lessons!
- 12th Grade: The Journey to Casa Azul
On September 25th, the 12th Grade took the annual trip to Rey Ceballo’s house for Cuban Culinary and Culture Workshops. Students happily listened to instructions, cut veggies and added spices to Rey’s authentic Cuban dishes, while others in the living room were having a jam session. While the food was cooking, everyone played some funny team-building games. A special thanks to Gromo and George for volunteering! The group stuffed themselves with delicious food and flan for dessert, then Rey taught them how to play some Latin instruments and everyone sang Cuban songs. This year’s group was very musically talented and the songs just kept on coming thanks to Julianna, Fragiski, Artsiiom, and David! Overall, this year’s 12th-grade integration trip was a blast!
