Bulletin 23 – 27/09/2024
Message from Principal
Dear Community,
It has been an eventful week for our students! Our high school students had several opportunities to explore potential career paths through various university presentations. These sessions have allowed them to gain valuable insights into the options available to them after completing their education at IAS. Meanwhile, our younger students enjoyed a fantastic Sports Day today, full of fun and excitement.
We have made the decision to postpone the student council president elections to October 4th. This gives our candidates two extra weeks to engage with their peers. However, the student council will still hold its first meeting next week.
Wishing you all a restful weekend!
Christopher Uden, Principal

Mini fair
Last week, university representatives visited our school, offering students insight into academic programs, admissions, and campus life. The event allowed students to ask questions and explore their post-secondary options, leaving them more informed and motivated for the future. [pictures in email]
Integration Trips
Grade 12 students recently embarked on an exciting trip to the Wedel Chocolate Factory, where they explored the art of chocolate-making firsthand. The tour provided a fascinating behind-the-scenes look at the production process, from the selection of ingredients to the creation of Wedel’s famous sweets. Students enjoyed tasting fresh chocolates and learning about the company’s rich history. To integrate and extend the experience, the group also visited the Elektrownia Powiśle food court, where they sampled a variety of local and international cuisine. It was a fun and educational day filled with sweet memories and great food!
On Friday, September 13, the 11th grade class took a trip to A1 Karting. The students were given a crash course in driving, then put right on the track for four action packed races. The students greatly enjoyed competing with their classmates, with Dean McKean taking the lead with the fastest times. After the races, the students traveled together for a social lunch at the mall food court. The day ended in high spirits with most of the students calling this the best trip they’ve had and looking forward to the next visit!
On Friday, September 13th, 10th-grade students went on an integration trip to Stacja Grawitacja, where they took part in various activities such as trampoline jumping, tackling the climbing wall, and navigating the high rope course. Some students also tried out VR games, adding a different dimension to the experience. The trip provided a good chance for the students to get to know each other better while enjoying some physical challenges. Overall, it was an enjoyable day with plenty of opportunities for bonding and fun.
“On September 13 our class (9A & 9B) went on our integration trip to the invisible exhibition. It was a very interesting experience, and lots of fun. We were escorted into several dark rooms, and had to use all our senses to go through each room along with our guide. One thing I found really interesting was that all the guides at the exhibition were blind, and I can only imagine how hard it must have been to memorize each and every room and all the items in them. There were many activities, such as identifying items and using our hearing skills. Throughout the experience, I think 9th grade really learned a lot about the experience of being blind, and I think it’ll be a unique memory for all of us.” — Yukta Ahuja 9B
For our Grade 8 trip, we visited the Escape Room in Praga. Students could choose from three themes: The Warsaw Uprising, where they faced historical challenges; Nazi Gold, focused on finding treasures; and Murder Mystery, where they solved a mystery. I’m happy to say that every group made it out! The students were excited about their success and proud of how well they worked together. They shared stories about their strategies and how they helped each other. Afterward, we enjoyed lunch and talked about the day before heading back to school. It was a great experience that brought the classmates closer together.
The 7th grade class all went to “Mysterious Room”, an escape room with 3 separate rooms. Our adventurers divided into 3 groups and tested their wits (and communication skills) to escape the room’s puzzles and tricks. Mr. Jan and I are happy to report that all 3 groups successfully solved the riddles and escaped the room! Celebrations were held over lunch before heading back to school, knowing that we had conquered the trails set before us.
On September 13, 6th graders embarked on an adventure to test their problem-solving skills and the durability of their eardrums. All three groups had to complete a room escape puzzle and none failed. Group 1 managed to survive a terrifying set of challenges while locked in an underground basement, Group 2 escaped from a submarine headed straight for the underwater city of Rapture, and group 3 grabbed their explorer’s hats and whips to beat a series of challenges Harrison Ford left behind as a present for the city of Warsaw the last time he visited. On our way back, we enjoyed a reasonably healthy lunch and a leisurely stroll in the Old Mokotów district where our students learned about some of the city’s history and walked past a much bigger room escape facility on Rakowiecka which they only scoffed at because they knew they were unstoppable.
Our 5th graders had a fantastic time on their trip to Dom Zagadek. They were split into two groups and worked together to solve riddles in different escape rooms. Both groups successfully completed their tasks and were very happy with their achievements. Afterward, they shared their experiences with each other. The students then had lunch at McDonald’s, where they enjoyed chatting with their classmates and getting to know the new students in grade 5. It was a great day of fun, teamwork, and making new friends. Everyone is excited for the next trip!
