ZTM student cards
The Karta Ucznia gives Warsaw schoolchildren free travel on public transport. This page covers how to check whether your child’s card is still valid, and the three ways to apply for a new one.

First
Check before you apply.
Card validity can be checked at sprawdzkarte.wtp.waw.pl by entering the eleven digit card number. If it has expired or is about to, apply for a replacement.
ZTM’s own rules have changed in recent years. Their application form now states that a child in the first grade does not need a Karta Ucznia, because the e-legitymacja serves as proof of entitlement to free travel. Read the notes on the form before applying, and ask the office if anything is unclear.
Three routes
How to apply.
Online, through the school link
Apply at kartaucznia.ztm.waw.pl using the IAS link on this page. You will need the current card number and a photograph. You receive a confirmation, then a notification by email, and collect the new card at school once the office lets you know it has arrived.
On paper, at school
Submit a completed application form to the school office together with a student ID photo measuring 3.5 by 4.5 cm. Ask the office for the current form.
In person at a ZTM service point
Take the current Student Card, a valid school ID and a 3.5 by 4.5 cm photo of the student to any ZTM Passenger Service Point.

Help
Stuck on the form?
Use the IAS link on this page, not a general one, so the application is matched to the school. If the school shown on the form is not right, or anything else looks wrong, contact the office before submitting.
