In short
What kind of school this is.
Small on purpose
About seven students to one teacher. Class groups are kept small, usually up to about eighteen and smaller in the youngest years, so teachers can work with students individually.
Three diploma options
A student can leave with the IB Diploma, the American High School Diploma or the Polish Matura. The Matura keeps the Polish university route open alongside the international one.
Taught in English
Lessons are in English throughout, with EAL support for students still building the language, and Polish taught as a subject at every level.
Two buildings, one school
Kindergarten through Grade 5 at Dembego 12, Grade 6 through Grade 12 at Dembego 18, both a short walk from Kabaty metro station.
A welcome
From our founder.

When this school opened its doors in 1989, Poland was changing by the week. We began as the first private American school of the post-communist period, with a small group of families who wanted their children taught in English, to an international standard, without leaving Warsaw.
Thirty-seven years later that is still the work. The building changed, and in 1994 we moved to our own campus in Ursynów, beside the Kabaty forest. The programmes grew, and today a student can leave us with the IB Diploma, the American High School Diploma or the Polish Matura. The school is accredited by the IB Organization, Cognia and the Polish Ministry of Education. More than a thousand young people have now graduated from IAS and gone on to universities and careers around the world.
What has not changed is the scale. We keep classes small on purpose, with a 7:1 student to teacher ratio, because a child learns best when the adults in the room know who they are. Our students come from more than forty countries, and they learn as much from one another as they do from us.
If you are considering IAS for your family, come and see us. Meet the teachers and ask about the subjects and support your child would receive.
