Our mission is to provide students with a challenging and supportive educational experience. Our faculty is made up of highly qualified and experienced teachers who are dedicated to providing individualized attention to each student and fostering a love for learning.
Working toward the IB Middle Years Programme
Since 2025, the IAS Middle School has been a candidate school for the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP). The MYP is built for students in exactly these years, and it develops the same habits the IB Diploma asks for later: inquiry, critical thinking, and connecting subjects to the real world. Candidacy means we are working through the IB authorisation process and aligning our teaching with the programme framework.
Only schools authorised by the International Baccalaureate Organization can offer the Middle Years Programme. Candidate status is a step in that process and does not guarantee that authorisation will be granted.
A well-rounded curriculum
Middle School students at IAS follow a curriculum that includes core subjects such as English, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies, as well as specialized subjects such as Music, Art, Physical Education, and World Languages. Alongside these, IAS offers an array of extracurricular activities that allow students to explore their interests and passions beyond the classroom.
We place a strong focus on 21st-century skills. Students engage in project-based learning experiences that challenge them to think critically, collaborate with their peers, and use technology in meaningful ways.
A supportive time of transition
Middle School is an exciting time for students as they make the transition from childhood to adolescence. At IAS, we recognize the importance of this time and strive to provide a supportive and nurturing environment. Our faculty works closely with families to ensure that each student is challenged academically and provided with the resources to succeed, inspiring each student to reach their full potential.
Modern languages in Middle School
We recognize the importance of learning modern foreign languages. In addition to English being the main language of instruction, we also offer PSL (Polish as a Second Language), French, and German. PSL is designed for students who do not speak Polish and aims to provide basic communicative skills. French and German classes start from Grade 6 and provide students with the opportunity to develop their language skills further.
For students who need additional support in English, we have an ESL (English as a Second Language) program available. Students in the ESL program may not be able to attend PSL, German, or French classes, as they are in an intensive support class. From Grade 8, students can choose either French or German. In Grade 6 and 7, both classes are mandatory if students are not on the ESL program.

Why does Poland have no Gimnazjum, but IAS has a Middle School?
Middle School and Gimnazjum are two distinct educational systems, each with its own approach to education. The Gimnazjum, which is no longer in existence in Poland, was a three-year program for students aged 13 to 15. Its focus was on preparing students for their final exams and future studies at high school level.
Middle School at IAS is a comprehensive program designed to provide students with an international education. It provides a well-rounded education, incorporating core academic subjects such as English, Math, Science, and History, as well as more specialized courses such as Art, Music, and Physical Education. The program also includes opportunities for students to take part in clubs, sports, and other extracurricular activities, and it aims to foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity, preparing students for a successful future in high school and beyond.
