Physical education
Where PE happens.

- Who takes it
- Physical education runs from Kindergarten to Grade 10. Pre-KG children take PE at Small School.
- How long
- Classes last approximately one hour.
- From Grade 4
- Taught by two teachers, one for the boys and one for the girls.
- What the hall is set up for
- Football, tennis, basketball, volleyball, indoor hockey and handball.
- Gymnastics
- Gymnastics mattresses, a jumping box and a pommel horse, for agility and flexibility work.
- The youngest
- At Small School the emphasis is on games, relays, races and mini games first, before the more technical work begins.
Swimming
In the pool.
- Where
- The SGGW swimming pool and the Aqua Relaks centre, the USCIR pool.
- Who
- Students from Pre-KG to Grade 6, in lessons of approximately one hour.
- Supervision
- Two teachers take every group, whatever the level, and several lifeguards are on duty at all times.
- What is taught
- Floating exercises, backstroke, crawl and breaststroke, through to butterfly for advanced swimmers.
- And the rest of it
- Jumping, flipping and diving, and underwater work using sinking toys.
- Equipment
- Boards, pipes and flippers, so non swimmers and advanced swimmers can share a lesson.
Teams
Football and basketball.
Students can join the IAS football and basketball teams. They train together through the year and compete against other public and private international schools in Warsaw and around Poland.
Our own grounds
The school has playing fields of its own.
The first part of the Konstancin site is the sports pitches, and classes have been on them since September. IAS now has its own playing fields.

The Konstancin grounds provide space for PE lessons and team training.
