A message from Mr Uden
Dear IAS Community,
As a community, we have a responsibility to respond thoughtfully and responsibly to the situation that has arisen in our local region in recent days. At times like these, it is important that we come back to the values that guide us as an institution: Respect, Integrity, Resilience, Responsibility, Collaboration, Service, Curiosity, and Global Mindedness.
Today, I attended a meeting with the Mazowiecki Education Superintendent (Kurator Oświaty), where schools were briefed on expectations regarding how we should respond to the possibility of a threat to a school or school community.
Our priority is as always to maintain a safe, open and supportive community in which students, families and staff feel secure. At the same time, we must ensure that we are appropriately prepared for any eventuality and that we follow the guidance and expectations of the relevant local authorities.
As part of this preparation, please review the information included in this bulletin about some changes to access to our school sites, as well as expectations for members of our community. These measures are precautionary and are intended to strengthen the safety of our community while allowing us to continue providing the welcoming environment that is central to who we are as a school.
We ask everyone to approach these changes with calmness, cooperation and understanding. By acting together and living our shared values, we can ensure that safety, respect and care for one another remain at the heart of our community.
Best regards,
Christopher Uden
Grade 12: keeping biological materials cool
15 and 16 October, 09:30 to 15:00
For their IB Diploma Programme Collaborative Sciences Project, Grade 12 will investigate how temperature-sensitive biological materials can be preserved during transport without an external electricity supply.
Students will combine physics, chemistry, biology and data analysis to design low-cost insulated transport systems. They will test cooling methods and examine how temperature affects biological preservation.
Middle and high school students and teachers are invited to visit, watch the experiments and speak with the student researchers. A detailed schedule will be shared at the beginning of the week.
A football tournament organised by Grade 11
Students in Grades 6 to 12 are taking part in a tournament on the outdoor pitch, with matches every Tuesday and Thursday during lunch throughout October.
Paul, Tolu, Jan, Talal, Viktor, Yong Xin and Matvii are organising the schedule and refereeing the matches using their own rulebook, supervised by Mr Maciej Szyszkowski.
Come to the pitch to cheer on your friends and see which team wins the trophy.

School meals

Complete your catering details
If you choose school catering, please register or sign in to the IAS iKuchnia panel and complete your details and your child’s details. For siblings, use “Add child” in the same account. Then choose the dates and meals, press “Order” to confirm, and arrange payment under “Balance” → “Pay”. Creating an account alone does not order lunch. Please arrange any allergies or special diets directly with the kitchen through iKuchnia.

Register your interest in school transport
If your family needs school transport, please complete the transport interest form with your contact details, your child’s name and grade, pick-up area and the journeys you need. Please direct transport questions to Michael Ceesay through the school office. The form is an expression of interest; availability, fees and the service agreement are confirmed with the provider.
Complete the transport formWe’re building IAS Online
We’re actively developing IAS Online, a school system for families, students and staff. It will bring student information, timetables, attendance, assignments, learning materials and school messages together in one place.
Work is under way, and we’ll share more as it takes shape.
Recommend IAS to another family
If you know a family looking for a school, please put them in touch with our admissions team. The IAS referral programme offers a 2,000 PLN tuition credit for an eligible new-family referral.
The new family must give the referring parent’s name at first contact, before submitting application documents. This is separate from the sibling discount. Please check the referral terms or contact [email protected].
Welcome back to IAS
Our student social media team made this short film to welcome everyone back to school. Take a look at life at IAS through their eyes.
Watch the students’ YouTube ShortSafety guidance for families and staff
We have condensed the ministry’s pupil guides into short English and Polish PDFs for families. Staff resources also include a summary of Warsaw’s crisis-response guide. The original documents are available alongside each summary.
