This Teachers’ Day, our students wrote their thanks on sticky notes and put them up on a wall that spelled out “Happy Teachers’ Day”. Some notes were a single word. Others remembered a lesson, a joke, or a teacher who stayed behind to help.
We turned those notes into a short film. It is our thank-you to the teachers who work at IAS today, to everyone who has taught here since 1989, and to teachers everywhere.
Two days for teachers in October
The world marks World Teachers’ Day on 5 October, and nine days later, on 14 October, Poland celebrates Dzień Edukacji Narodowej, the National Education Day. Our teachers come from many countries, and many of them know a teachers’ day on yet another date at home.
A few lines from the film say what a teacher can mean to a child: “You learned our names by the second week.” “You stayed behind when the bell had gone.”
A short version for phones
Meet some of the people in the film on our Our teachers page.
Happy Teachers’ Day, from all of us at IAS.
