The results of the May 2026 IB Diploma Programme examination session are in, and the Class of 2026 finished well above the worldwide average.
The results at a glance
- Average diploma score: 34 points, compared with a worldwide average of approximately 30.6.
- Highest individual diploma score: 41 points.
- Average subject grade: 5.36, compared with a worldwide average of 4.97.
Students achieved particularly strong results in English A: Language and Literature, Business Management and Psychology, with all three performing well above the global average.
How IB scoring works
The IB Diploma is marked out of 45 points. Students take six subjects, each graded from 1 to 7, and can earn up to three further points from the Extended Essay and Theory of Knowledge. A score of 34 places our students comfortably above the global cohort, and 41 points is a result that opens doors at selective universities worldwide.

One of three pathways at IAS
The IB Diploma is one of three routes our students can take through their final years. Families can also choose an American High School Diploma or the Polish Matura, and IAS offers all three. You can read more on our Three Diploma Pathways page.
