Open the family Community ZoneEvacuation practice on Wednesday
Both buildings will practise evacuation on Wednesday, 21 October. If the weather is poor, students will be allowed to take their coats with them.
Supervised shop visits at lunchtime
All lunchtime visits to nearby shops must be supervised. They are for students who need to buy an essential item, not for browsing or social visits. Students should eat their main lunch at school before joining the group whenever possible, and only join if they intend to make a necessary purchase.

A message from Mr Uden
Dear IAS Community,
The last week has brought many changes with the new arrangements in place with site access. I know that some of these changes have complicated life at school, particularly for our students in older grades. However, I am really grateful to all of the students for their understanding and cooperation. As we continue with our monthly theme of respect, I have been appreciative of the many members of our community that have managed to discuss the difficulties they have faced with these changes in a respectful manner.
Next week we have some changes that will be made to the timetable of lessons. Please make sure that you check the updated timetables, details about this below. Also, in the coming weeks we will be having Halloween celebrations and the mid-semester reports which will be sent out on 12 November. As such we are now entering a busy time at school where there will be activities organized and assessments taking place.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support and for being part of our community.
Best regards,
Christopher Uden
Students test a package that keeps samples cool
![]() | ![]() |
During the IB Diploma Programme Collaborative Science Project on 15 and 16 October, physics, chemistry and biology students worked together to design an inexpensive insulated package. It had to keep biological samples cool during transport without electricity.
The chemistry team compared three salt-and-ice mixtures to find the best coolant. The physics team then tested five packages with different insulation and cooling arrangements. Each contained a sealed flask of potato catalase extract prepared by the biology team.
After a simulated journey, the biology students checked whether the enzymes were still active. The teams shared their findings, analysed the measurements and drew a joint conclusion.

Grade 3 discovers how muscles work in pairs
Grade 3 built model arms from cardboard, two elastic bands, a pin and staples. Bending and straightening the models helped them see how the biceps and triceps work together.
When an arm bends, the biceps contract and shorten while the triceps relax and lengthen. When it straightens, the roles reverse. The models demonstrated why muscles work in pairs: they can pull, but they cannot push.
Grade 4’s surprise for Ms Julia

Grade 4 planned a Teachers’ Day surprise for their homeroom teacher, Ms Julia. They decorated the classroom with balloons and confetti, brought snacks to share and presented her with gifts.
Class President Zainab said the class was very grateful to Ms Julia and happy to have her as their homeroom teacher.

Complete your catering details
If you choose school catering, please register or sign in to the IAS iKuchnia panel and complete your details and your child’s details. For siblings, use “Add child” in the same account. Register your interest in school transport
If your family needs school transport, please complete the transport interest form with your contact details, your child’s name and grade, pick-up area and the journeys you need. Please direct transport questions to Michael Ceesay through the school office. The form is an expression of interest; availability, fees and the service agreement are confirmed with the provider.
Complete the transport formWe’re building IAS Online
We’re actively developing IAS Online, a school system for families, students and staff. It will bring student information, timetables, attendance, assignments, learning materials and school messages together in one place.
Work is under way, and we’ll share more as it takes shape.
Recommend IAS to another family
If you know a family looking for a school, please put them in touch with our admissions team. The IAS referral programme offers a 2,000 PLN tuition credit for an eligible new-family referral.
The new family must give the referring parent’s name at first contact, before submitting application documents. This is separate from the sibling discount. Please check the referral terms or contact [email protected].
Welcome back to IAS
Our student social media team made this short film to welcome everyone back to school. Take a look at life at IAS through their eyes.
Watch the students’ YouTube ShortSafety guidance for families and staff
We have condensed the ministry’s pupil guides into short English and Polish PDFs for families. Staff resources also include a summary of Warsaw’s crisis-response guide. The original documents are available alongside each summary.
