Dear IAS Parents & Students,
We hope everyone is having a great summer.
We are writing to inform you of an important change in our school administration for the upcoming academic year. Our current principal, Mr. Arthur O’Keeffe, who has been with IAS for over 11 years and has served as our principal for more than 4 years, will be taking a year off starting in August 2024.
We want to extend our deepest gratitude to Mr. O’Keeffe for his dedication, leadership, and the positive impact he has had on IAS. His commitment and contributions to our school community have been invaluable.
Message from Mr. Arthur O’Keeffe:
Dear parents, students, and the wider IAS school community,
After 11 years at IAS, including 5 years as vice principal and 4 years as principal, I have made the difficult decision to take a year off, starting in August 2024. I am truly grateful for the support that I have received from parents, teachers, and the administration throughout my time at IAS. I couldn’t have done it without you, and I trust you will offer the same support to my successor.
Of course, a school is nothing without its students, and I have enjoyed nurturing students at IAS for the past 11 years. I will look forward with excitement to seeing what IAS students will do next.
My successor will start in August, but I will remain in a support role until the end of August. You can always reach me at arthur.okeeffe@ias.edu.pl.
Warm regards,
Arthur O’Keeffe
We are also excited to announce that our former principal, Mr. Christopher Uden, will be returning to IAS after 5 years. Mr. Uden rejoined us earlier this year as a teacher and will now be stepping into the role of principal. We are enthusiastic about his return and are looking forward to the 2024/2025 academic year under his leadership.
Message from Mr. Christopher Uden:
Dear IAS Community,
Returning to IAS earlier this year was a real delight. It was amazing to see how much the school has developed, whilst holding on to the important values and traditions that it has always had. I am really excited to be taking up the challenge of this new position at IAS and looking forward to working with all of you. As a school leader, I believe in the importance of creating strong community ties and focusing on the well-being of all members of our community, particularly our students.
The next academic year will be an exciting and demanding one as we move towards the implementation of the MYP program in the middle school and focus on the continued improvement of the programs we offer in the elementary and high schools. I am sure with such a close, dedicated group of students, teachers, and parents, we will get the very best from these endeavors.
Hope your summer is going well and see you soon,
Warm regards,
Christopher Uden
