The 2026/2027 academic year opens with our ceremonies on Tuesday, 1 September 2026. Classes begin on Wednesday, 2 September 2026. Families joining us this year are invited to New Parent and Student Orientation on Monday, 31 August 2026.
New Parent and Student Orientation, Monday, 31 August 2026
Orientation is for families starting at IAS this year. It is a chance to meet members of our school community, find your way around the buildings, and let students settle in before their first day. We will go through the year ahead: academics, school routines, communication, student life and the practical details you will need. There will be time for questions.
- 10:00 to 11:00 Orientation, Group 1
- 11:00 to 11:30 Break
- 11:30 to 12:30 Orientation, Group 2
The school will let each family know which group to attend.
Opening Ceremony, Tuesday, 1 September 2026
Our opening ceremonies take place across both buildings:
- 10:00 to 11:00 Dembego 12, Kindergarten to Grade 5
- 11:00 to 12:00 Dembego 18, Grades 6 to 10
- 13:00 to 14:00 Dembego 18, Grades 11 to 12, IB Diploma and High School Diploma

The IAS administration will send every family a full email this week with the information you need before the first day, including the practical details for the start of term. Please keep an eye on your inbox.
The start of a school year brings plenty of questions, and a new school brings more. Orientation and the Opening Ceremony exist to make that beginning easier, so parents and students alike start the year knowing what to expect.
