The student-teacher ratio at IAS is approximately 7:1 across the school. It compares the number of students with the number of teachers. It does not mean that every class has seven students.
Ask about your child’s class
Class sizes vary by grade and enrolment. When you contact admissions, ask how many children are in the relevant class and which teachers will work with them. That gives you a more useful picture than a school-wide average alone.
Time with a teacher
With about seven students to every teacher, there is time to discuss a piece of work, check understanding and adapt the next task. A student might need another explanation, more practice or a more demanding problem. We want teachers to have time for those conversations.
English support
Students learning in a new language may need help with subject vocabulary as well as everyday conversation. Our EAL team assesses their English and discusses support available for their grade. Ask how those lessons fit into the timetable and whether additional fees apply.
Keeping in touch
Parents can discuss progress with teachers and at parent-teacher meetings. If something changes at home or a child is finding school difficult, please let the school know so we can discuss what might help.
