We are used to families who arrive with short notice. Relocations rarely happen on a tidy schedule, and a child joining a few weeks into the year is something we deal with often. Tell us your situation and we will tell you honestly what is available in your child’s year group.
What a place at IAS means
IAS has taught in English since 1989, from Kindergarten through Grade 12. Classes are kept small, usually up to about eighteen students and smaller in the youngest years, with a student to teacher ratio of about seven to one. Our community represents more than 40 nationalities.
At the end of school, students can take the IB Diploma, an American high school diploma, or the Polish Matura, all under one roof. For a family that may move again, that flexibility matters more than it sounds.
If your child does not speak English yet
Many arrive that way. It is normal here and it is planned for. EAL support begins in a child’s first week, rather than after they have fallen behind, and most families are surprised how quickly it comes.
Coming to see us
We are at Dembego 18 in Ursynow, five minutes on foot from Metro Kabaty, with the Kabaty forest at the end of the street. Our youngest children learn in their own building nearby on Dembego 12.
