Start of the 2026/2027 year: what families need to know

Dear Parents and Students,

Welcome to the 2026/2027 academic year. We hope you enjoyed a wonderful and restful summer break. Our teachers have been working diligently over the past two weeks to prepare for what promises to be a very exciting year at IAS. Last year, many innovations were introduced in our academic programs, and we look forward to consolidating and building on them in the months ahead.

Opening Ceremonies

We warmly invite you to join our Opening Ceremonies on Tuesday, 1 September 2026, scheduled as follows.

Vulcan, the electronic register

On the first day of school, login information for both parents and students will be distributed during homeroom meetings. Access details will be provided via a QR code, allowing families to log in to the system quickly and easily.

Community Website

Our Community Website has been redesigned to centralise important school information and documents. All important school policies are posted there for parents and students to have access to. Please do make use of this resource. Access it at community.ias.edu.pl. The password was sent to parents by email.

Absences

If your child will be absent, please notify the school office by email at [email protected] no later than 8:30 on the same day. Without notification, students will be marked as unexcused.

BYOD (Grades 9-12)

From September 1, IAS will introduce a structured Phone-Free School Day for students in Grades 6-10, supporting both new national requirements and our commitment to improving focus, well-being, and social interaction. Students at D18 will switch off their phones and other personal devices on arrival and place them in secure, locked storage until the end of their final scheduled class or activity. The existing D12 rule prohibiting personal electronic devices for students in Grades 1 to 5 will remain unchanged, while limited exceptions may be made for documented medical needs or specific teacher-supervised educational activities. Parents who need to contact their child urgently during the school day should do so through the relevant school office rather than through the student’s personal device.

Student Mobility Policy

Students in Grades 7 to 12 may leave campus at lunchtime only with a completed Student Mobility Form signed by parents. The full policy is available on the Community Website. Please note that without signed permission forms students will not be allowed to leave the campus.

Academic Integrity Policy

IAS is committed to fairness, honesty, and responsible use of resources. All students and parents will be asked to sign the Academic Integrity Pledge, affirming their commitment to authentic work, correct citation, and responsible use of AI.

Timetables and equipment

Timetables will be distributed by homeroom teachers, and can also be found on the class schedule page of the Community Website. They can also be accessed via Vulcan from 1 September. Equipment lists will be provided by homeroom teachers during the first week of school. Families will have a two week grace period to purchase materials.

Weekly bulletins

Please check your email each Friday afternoon for the school bulletin, which includes schedules, events, and important updates. If you are not receiving the bulletin, contact [email protected].

Transportation

IAS offers an optional school bus service through an external private transportation provider, providing convenient transport between students’ homes and the school. Pick-up and drop-off arrangements are determined directly with the bus company according to families’ needs, and the service is charged separately from school tuition. Families may also take advantage of the school’s convenient location just 200 metres from Kabaty metro station. Catering

From September 2026, IAS will be working with Kuchnia z Klasą, an experienced Warsaw school catering provider offering freshly prepared meals made from scratch using seasonal ingredients. Families will be able to choose from a wide range of options, including meat, vegetarian and vegan meals, as well as dairy-free, gluten-free, egg-free and individually arranged diets. Meals will be ordered and paid for through the bilingual iKuchnia system, with families receiving login details and instructions shortly before the start of school. Student IDs

Students who require a new student ID card should visit Mr Filip at the D18 reception, where a photograph can be taken and the card printed. Returning students who already have an ID card only need a new validity sticker, which can be requested from the Main Office and should be completed by 1 October. An up-to-date student ID is required for free public transport for students in Grades 1 to 8, and for reduced-fare public transport for students in Grades 9 to 12. We therefore encourage families to update student IDs as early as possible.
