International American School of Warsaw has taught children in Warsaw since 1989. Today, students from more than 40 nationalities attend the school, from Kindergarten through Grade 12. Class sizes vary by grade; the school-wide student-teacher ratio is approximately 7:1.
Kindergarten and Elementary
In Kindergarten, children learn through play, conversation, movement and practical activities. Teachers help them practise language and early mathematics, become familiar with classroom routines and work with other children.
In Elementary, the timetable includes English, mathematics, science, social studies, art, music and physical education. Students practise explaining how they reached an answer and use what they have learned in projects. Teachers discuss progress and support with families.
Language support and a new school
New pupils arrive from different countries and school programmes, sometimes during the year. Admissions reviews previous school records and discusses the appropriate grade. The EAL team assesses English and explains the support available, including its timetable and any additional fees.
Middle School and AI
IAS is a candidate school for the IB Middle Years Programme. Candidacy is part of the authorisation process and does not guarantee authorisation. The school is working on its curriculum and teaching practices against the IB requirements.
AI use is introduced by school stage. Younger pupils practise reading, handwriting and problem-solving without AI tools in class. Middle School pupils work with AI under teacher supervision, checking answers and sources. High School students must follow assignment rules and identify any generated material they use.
Diploma programmes
IAS offers the IB Diploma, American High School Diploma and Polish Matura. Counsellors help students compare subjects and university requirements before the final years. A programme change or combination depends on meeting the relevant course and assessment requirements.
IAS has been authorised for the IB Diploma Programme since 2006, holds Cognia accreditation and operates within the Polish education system.
Konstancin
The school is developing sports grounds in Konstancin for football, physical education and outdoor activities. The site is also part of the plans for a future campus. Teaching continues at Dembego; the school will communicate confirmed arrangements for further developments to families.
